Bridge the gap between your degree and your career

Transitioning from academic study to a clinical environment can feel like a steep learning curve. Many recent graduates find that while they have the theory, they haven't yet grasped the core skills necessary for psychology practice.
In this interactive workshop, we move beyond the textbook. You can expect a supportive environment where we focus on three core skills essential for effective and safe psychology practice.
What to expect
-
My two and a half-hour session (10:00–12:30) is built around three pillars of clinical practice. I use a blend of teaching, real-world based (pseudo) case studies, sample interview questions to explore, discussions, and Q&A.
-
How to move beyond a "check-in" and use supervision for active professional growth, clinical safety, and ethical practice.
-
Work with models like Gibbs and Social GRACES to develop the Doctorate-level depth of reflection that panels look for.
-
An introduction to the 5 Ps framework and a step-by-step guide to linking psychological theory to a client’s lived experience (pseudo case study).
-
We will explore the common interview questions tied to these skills and help you learn how to answer them with confidence.
-
Dedicated time to ask Melisa specific questions.
