Not sure where you’re heading?

The different pathways, the experience requirements, the competitive landscape, the uncertainty about your next step … navigating a psychology career can feel overwhelming.

If you're wondering "Should I apply for clinical or counselling psychology?" or "How do I actually break into the NHS?", I'll guide you through these concerns with clarity through my career coaching programme, Find Your Direction.

Not knowing what to do next isn't a failure!

Most psychology graduates feel this way at some point and most don't talk about it, because everyone else seems to have a plan. Find Your Direction is a space to think it through properly, with someone who has been through the process and now supports others navigating it.

Is this for you?

✔️ You're applying for roles without a clear sense of where you actually want to end up (and it shows in your applications)

✔️ You feel like everyone else has a plan, and you're the only one still figuring it out

✔️ You've googled "how to become a clinical psychologist" more times than you'd like to admit, and you're still not sure if that's even the right goal

✔️ You want someone to help you think it through properly, not just hand you a to-do list.

Three sessions. One clear direction.

Book Now

Before we talk about what to do next, we get clear on where you actually want to end up. What kind of work do you want to be doing in ten years? What matters to you, i.e., the client work, the research, the autonomy, the specialism? We explore your values and motivations so that when we look at routes, we're building on what’s important to you, not just what you think you "should" do.

01

Given where you want to go, what does your route actually need to look like? We work through the realistic pathways — clinical, counselling, or another applied psychology doctorate, counselling and psychotherapy trainings, specialist accreditations — and explore what each one involves, what it leads to, and what the trade-offs are. You'll leave with a clearer sense of which route makes sense for you right now, and why.

02

We translate everything into a concrete, prioritised action plan. What do you focus on first? What can wait? What are the immediate action points that need addressing? You'll leave with a tailored written plan that connects your immediate actions to your longer term vision.

Questions you might have

  • Find Your Direction is for psychology graduates who feel genuinely unclear about what they want to do next. It could be which roles to apply for, but also which direction their career should take altogether. That might mean you're deciding between clinical, counselling, and educational pathways. It might mean you're questioning whether the psychology route is right for you at all. Or it might just mean you feel stuck and need structured space to think it through properly.

  • Find Your Direction is for people who aren't yet sure which path to pursue. AP Ready is for people who've already decided they want to work as an Assistant Psychologist and need help making their applications competitive.

You can do Find Your Direction first, then go on to the AP Programme once you have clarity. If you're unsure which is right for you, you're welcome to book a discovery call first.

  • Each session is 60 minutes. You can complete all three sessions over 3-6 weeks, spacing them roughly one to two weeks apart. That gives you enough time to sit with what comes up and complete the worksheets between calls.

  • Going round in circles is usually a sign that you've been trying to think your way to clarity without enough structure or without someone to think alongside. Three sessions won't solve everything, but they will give you a clear framework, honest reflection, and a concrete plan to leave with.

  • Please give at least 24 hours' notice if you need to reschedule a session. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may not be rescheduled. The full package is non-refundable once sessions have begun.
