The Mentorship

£1,197.00

The Mentorship is 6 months of having me alongside you, whether that's your second or third AP application cycle, a Doctorate cycle from first draft through to interview, or regular coaching to keep your morale and accountability up whilst you work out what you're going for. You won't be explaining your situation from scratch every time you need help. I'll know your experience, your goals, and the things you keep underselling about yourself.

What’s included

Six months of 1:1 coaching, unlimited access to me in between, and someone who knows your full story

This is for you if you are…

✔️ A fresh psychology graduate applying for assistant psychologist or similar roles

You've done the degree, maybe some volunteering or paid work, but you're not getting shortlisted. You want someone consistently by your side to show you exactly what's missing and how to present your experience more effectively.

✔️ An aspiring psychologist preparing master’s or doctorate applications

You're working towards a Masters, the DClinPsy, DEduPsy or DCounsPsy but the process feels overwhelming. You want ongoing guidance on timelines, personal statements, research proposals, and how to position yourself as a strong candidate.

✔️ A graduate navigating multiple unsuccessful application cycles

You've been applying for jobs or doctorates for months (or years) with limited success. You're tired of generic advice and want specific, actionable feedback on what you're doing wrong and how to fix it.

✔️ An international psychology graduate applying for UK roles or degrees

You're navigating an unfamiliar system, NHS structures, UK masters and doctorates, person specifications, etc. You want someone who understands both the UK pathway and the challenges of applying from outside.

✔️ A career changer transitioning into psychology

You've got life experience, maybe a previous career, and you're committed to psychology. But you're not sure how to present non-traditional experience or what steps to take next.

The upside of a longer-term commitment

Breaking into psychology takes time, and I have noticed through coaching dozens of aspiring psychologists that most people need several months of consistent applications and feedback before they start seeing results. Unfortunately, that's just the reality of how competitive the field is.

What six months gets you that a one-off session can't is someone who remembers and keeps you accountable. By month three I know your experience, your writing, the thing you undersell every time, and what you said in your last interview that cost you. That's when the feedback stops being general and starts being about you specifically. I can't promise you a role or a place (nobody can, and be wary of anyone who does). What I can tell you is that the people who get there tend to be the ones who kept applying with someone competent looking over the work, rather than the ones who applied harder alone.

Who you’ll be working with

I'm Melisa, a BACP Reg. Psychotherapist, BPS Community Champion and final-year Trainee Counselling Psychologist at City St George’s, University of London. I achieved a 100% success rate in doctorate applications on my first go, and received three offers from 16 Assistant Psychologist applications. Now, I help dozens of graduates secure Assistant Psychologist and other NHS roles, and gain places on competitive psychology doctorate programmes through tailored coaching and in-depth guides.
